Some of the best shows I've seen all year came through Denver this past week, and to top it off? Girl Talk is playing on Halloween. (Read my review of his summer show in Boulder here) Sometimes, when I sit back and take a deep breath, I realize Denver really is a great place to be. Amen to being the biggest city in four states, ya'll!
I saw Kings of Leon at the Fillmore last Thursday, and my friend Alex wrote a nice review of the show here. I didn't agree with her view of the show, but as always, she writes gorgeous words.
Friday was Yelle. I called it one of the best shows of the year, and I'm not backing down from that. If you like Tiffany, Debbie Gibson, Britney, Hilary, or Miley, grab her record. It's French Pop Americana bliss. Read my preview of her show here, and a review of the show here.
Monday was Abe Vigoda with Telepathe (DIPLO and Boy 8-Bit were also there, but were totally boring.) Although the sound was absolutely fucking horrible, Abe and Telepathe pulled through. Read my interview with Juan from AV here, and my review of the show should be up here soon.
